THISDAY puts NU in New York

New York Fashion Week began when THISDAY presented collective African Fashion 2009. The exhibition consisted of notes of mandarin, between gray and brown and boyishly tailored suits to fabric texture. The designers of Mali in French Designer shows including Lamine badian Kouyat, the Nigerian Designers Asibuela and Fati Folake Folarin-Coker, and South Africa Nkosi Nkhensani Designer.

Famous faces such as Alek Wek and Liya Kebede grace the runway sporting western twist to traditional African clothing, including printed fabrics, hats, and beads. This event marked the U.S. debut of the new global THISDAY show the style and culture magazine celebrating African achievement in music, style, culture, economics and politics. Obviously, his clothing industry needed this type of excitement.

Hollywood was at the after party in New York’s Plaza Hotel. The guests included the Grammy winner Estelle, hip hop personality Fonzworth Bentley and Solange Knowles and her band entertainment. The event was the perfect way to begin the largest American Fashion week.
